贵州远志是被子植物门远志科远志属的植物。
贵州远志，多年生草本或亚灌木，高5-10厘米；
茎、枝圆柱形，幼时被短柔毛，密具圆形突起的叶痕和皮孔。
单叶互生，叶片厚纸质（或微肉质），椭圆状倒卵形或匙形，长1-1.5厘米，宽5-8毫米，先端钝，具短尖头，基部下延，楔形，全缘，叶面绿色，近叶缘处密被白色短刚毛，背面淡绿色，稍粗糙，无毛，主脉上面微凹，背面隆起，侧脉2-3对，仅背面可见；
叶柄长6毫米，具翅。
总状花序顶生，少花；
花大，长18毫米，花梗长约6毫米，被短柔毛；
萼片5，外面3枚小，不等大，无毛，上面1枚兜状，长约6毫米，两侧者长圆形，长约4毫米，宽约2毫米，先端钝圆，基部偏斜，内萼片花瓣状，椭圆状长圆形，长约14毫米，宽约6毫米，先端圆形，基部具爪，3-5脉；
花瓣3，白色或淡绿白色，侧生花瓣长圆形，长约15毫米，2/3以下与龙骨瓣合生，龙骨瓣与侧瓣等长或稍长，顶端具4条指状鸡冠状附属物；
雄蕊8，花丝长约14毫米，3/4以下合生成鞘，并与花瓣贴生，花药卵形；
子房阔长圆形，径约1.5毫米，具翅，基部具短柄及环状花盘，花柱长13毫米，柱头2裂，裂片三角形，柱头生于下裂片内。
果实不详。
花期7-9月。
Polygala dunniana

Polygala dunniana differs from P. saxicola and P. koi in having smaller, elliptic to obovate or spoon-shaped leaves (10-15 mm long, 5-8 mm wide) covered with white transparent short stiff hairs near the leaf margin. Its inflorescence is very short with few large flowers (18 mm long), white or pale green-white in color, with the keel petal having 4 finger-like appendages.
