叶为发汗、镇咳、芳香性健胃利尿剂，有镇痛、镇静、解毒作用；梗有平气安胎之功；子能镇咳、祛痰、平喘、发散精神之沉闷。
边缘在基部以上有粗锯齿。
花期8-11月，果期8-12月。
