吊球草的叶子为披针形，长8-18厘米，宽1.5-4厘米，两端渐狭，边缘具钝齿，纸质。
吊球草的学名是Hyptis rhomboidea Mart. et Gal.
吊球草的子房裂片球形，无毛。
吊球草的花冠是乳白色的，长约6毫米，外面被微柔毛。
